Kevlar or hollow braided Dyneema with a capacity of 150 to 300 kg have proven good as leader lines. A piece of braided Kevlar is first doubled and twisted (1) for this. A simple open knot is made at the end. The hook is inserted into it so that the leader and the hook eye both face out on the same side of the knot. (2) Now the knot is tightened and the leader inserted through the hook eye from the rear. (3) A piece of heat shrink tube secures the connection. The upper end of the leader is looped into a solid ring. The solid ring and jig hang together in a strong split ring that is attached to a swivel. 137 1 3 2
