Madagascar Courtesy: www.emeraudefishing.com Madagascar Madagascar is well known among animal lovers for its enormous biodiversity. It continues under water as well. More than twenty different species of fish are caught in the coastal waters while trolling or fishing with popper and jig. The offshore islet Nosi Be situated in the northwest of Madagascar is one of the major tourist centers of the "Pepper Islands" and therefore fishing boats are available there. Sailfish are the primary prey when trolling with smaller lures that are combined with strip bait. Numerous bites per trip are quite possible on an average day. Up to twenty attacks can be expected during the main season from June to August. Dolphin fish and wahoo are part of the by-catch.
